Advancing Palliative Care Collaboration
Dr. Béla Szilágyi participated in an important discussion at Ontario’s Legislative Building, hosted by Hon. Michael Tibollo, Associate Minister of Mental Health and Addictions. Joined by Hon. Peter Bethlenfalvy, Rudy Cuzzetto, and Sándor Balla, the meeting focused on enhancing hospice palliative care in Ontario and exploring collaborative opportunities with Hungary’s Tábitha House, the country’s only children’s hospice.
Fundraising for Tábitha House
An exclusive gastronomic dinner, hosted by the HEPA Canada Regional Office in partnership with Connoisseur Wine Imports, brought together 25 business leaders from the Greater Toronto Area. This event showcased premium Hungarian wines paired with Hungarian and international cuisine, while supporting the vital mission of Tábitha House. The fundraiser generated significant contributions to aid this essential children’s hospice.
Sharing Festive Joy
In the spirit of the season, the HEPA Canada Regional Office facilitated a donation of toys to bring smiles to Hungarian children. These small gestures of kindness reflect our commitment to spreading happiness during the holidays.
Celebrating Hungarian Traditions at the Extra Hungariam Foundation Jubilee
On December 7th, the 10th Anniversary Gala of the Extra Hungariam Foundation featured a Panyolai Pálinka tasting, sponsored by the HEPA Canada Regional Office and curated by Joseph Safian, Beverage Director of the office. Guests enjoyed an Advent concert by Kata Csongrádi, paired with a festive dinner, creating a memorable evening celebrating Hungarian culture.
Supporting Children’s Health Initiatives
Earlier this season, the HEPA Canada Regional Office contributed to two impactful charity initiatives. A gala dinner raised 1.5 million forints for the Heim Pál Children’s Hospital, while another fundraising effort collected 3.5 million forints to support Tábitha House. Both donations symbolize the strength of collaboration and the shared commitment to improving the lives of children in need.
Looking Ahead
December has been a testament to the power of unity and purpose. As we step into the new year, the HEPA Canada Regional Office remains committed to fostering partnerships, supporting meaningful causes, and celebrating Hungarian culture and innovation.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to these initiatives. Together, we continue to make a difference.
