November Highlights at the HEPA Regional Office Canada: A Month of Connections and Innovation

November was a month of remarkable events and significant milestones for the HEPA Regional Office Canada, showcasing Hungarian innovation and fostering meaningful collaborations in Toronto and beyond. Here’s a look back at some of our key activities:

A Toast to Hungarian Excellence: Wine Dinner in Downtown Toronto

In partnership with Con-nois-seur Wine Imports Inc., we hosted an elegant Hungarian wine dinner in downtown Toronto. This event celebrated Hungarian culture and innovation, featuring a professional presentation of Uphome Smart Living+ and its groundbreaking smart home technology. Guests were treated to exceptional wines from Gere Winery, Patricius Borház, and Csányi Borászat, complemented by brandies and liqueurs from Panyolai Pálinkák.

Joseph Safian, our Director of Beverage, expertly presented the wines, while attendees, including representatives from Fieldgate Construction Management, Multiwide Mechanical Contractors, and Caliber Homes, engaged in lively discussions about potential partnerships and Hungary’s contributions to the Canadian market.

Strengthening Trade Relations: Sandor Balla Visits Hungary

Executive Director Sandor Balla embarked on a productive visit to Hungary, where he joined Balázs Csutora, Canadian Relations Expert at HEPA, in a key meeting with Dr. Riad Naboulsi, CEO of Kőröstej Ltd. Discussions centered on finalizing support for Kőröstej’s entry into Canada, particularly the launch of the Hajdú brand’s grilled and cream cheeses. With Tree of Life Canada as a distribution partner, these quality products will soon be available across the country.

In another landmark development, negotiations with the Kuube Smart Bench team concluded successfully. The distribution agreement paves the way for Kuube’s sustainable, solar-powered smart benches—equipped with USB ports, wireless chargers, and Wi-Fi hotspots—to arrive in Canada next spring. This innovative solution promises to elevate public spaces and smart city infrastructure across the country.

Showcasing Innovation: Continest Demo Day in Toronto

Back in Toronto, we collaborated with Continest for a highly successful Demo Day, spotlighting their revolutionary foldable container solutions. Designed for rapid installation, transport efficiency, and sustainability, these containers captured the interest of guests, including leaders from Pomerleau, Momentum Solutions, and Jack Shooshan Consulting.

The event featured live demonstrations led by Vidor Kis-Marton, CEO of Continest, alongside Dr. Stefánia Szabó, CEO of Continest Canada Inc., and Duncan Fulker, Head of Global Operations. Their presentations highlighted the immense potential of Hungarian engineering to meet the evolving needs of Canadian industries.

Looking Ahead

From promoting Hungarian wines and smart home technologies to advancing trade partnerships and demonstrating groundbreaking products, November was a testament to the strength of Hungarian innovation and its growing impact in Canada. We remain committed to building on these successes and exploring new opportunities to foster collaboration and promote excellence.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue bridging Hungarian and Canadian markets!
