Hungarian Golf Day 2024: Strengthening Business Ties on the Green

The HEPA Regional Office Canada, in collaboration with the Hungarian Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Hungarian Canadian Entrepreneurs, and the Consulate General of Hungary in Toronto, was proud to host the fourth annual Hungarian Golf Day on September 11, 2024, at the beautiful Cardinal Golf Club. This highly anticipated event brought together Hungarian businesses, Canadian partners, and key stakeholders for a day of networking, collaboration, and friendly competition.

A Day of Networking and Collaboration

Following registration and lunch, nearly 150 participants took part in the friendly match. Business leaders, diplomats, and civilians had the chance to compete while engaging in meaningful conversations and exploring potential partnerships. Hungarian Golf Day has become more than just a sports event—it serves as a valuable platform for fostering professional relationships and strengthening business ties between Hungary and Canada.

A special highlight of the day was the opportunity to taste a selection of unique Hungarian wines, now available in Ontario. Participants enjoyed wines from renowned Hungarian wineries, including Patricius Winery, Csányi Winery, Mad Wine, and Bolyki Winery, at various points along the golf course. Additionally, attendees e

xperienced the innovative smart home solutions by Uphome Canada, based on Hungarian dev

elopments, as well as Vemoco’s cutting-edge smart car technologies.

Distinguished Guests and Strengthened Relationships

We were honored to welcome several distinguished guests, including Dr. Mária Vass-Salazar – Ambassador of Hungary, Dániel Mendelényi – Traveling Ambassador for International Business Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, János Jákó – Consul General, Helga Gál – Foreign Affairs Attaché, Máté Árpád Igaz – Deputy Head of Mission and Economic Attaché, Dániel Németh – Economic Trade Attaché, and Sándor Balla – Executive Director of HEPA Regional Office Canada, President of the Hungarian Canadian Chamber of Commerce, and the Hungarian Canadian Business Association.

Their presence underscored the importance of this event in fostering diplomatic and economic relations between Hungary and Canada. Hungarian Golf Day provided an informal yet impactful setting to discuss future cooperation and business opportunities in various sectors.

A Fun and Productive Day

The day was filled with exciting moments on the greens, with teams competing in a friendly atmosphere. The event concluded with an awards ceremony recognizing standout performances and celebrating the spirit of collaboration. We are deeply grateful to all the participants, sponsors, and partners who made this event a success.

Special thanks to our event sponsors: Local 675 union in Toronto, Senso Group, Durabond, Local 183, Mason’s Masonry, and Just Deals, whose generous support helped make this day possible.
